In many of these cases, we can consider compatibility with other treatments for a more satisfactory aesthetic result. It is very common for this procedure to be performed with mastopexy, i.e. a technique to lift the breast, either periareolar or complete mastopexy. We can also have the option of including our own fat in the breast to help avoid creating the effect of an “empty” breast.
Complementary treatments to breast implant removal
Dropping or sagging breast effect is a potential risk in any breast implant removal procedure. The good news is that we can take advantage of other treatments to eliminate this effect.
These are the situations we can deal with using breast implant or prosthesis removal and the possible complementary solutions:
- When the breast is small: We can consider the option of leaving it after removing the implants, if the aesthetic effect is satisfactory.
- When the breast is large: A mastopexy can be an optimal complementary treatment. It lifts sagging breasts and the patient achieves an attractive result.
- When there is an empty breast effect: We can proceed to the insertion of adipose tissue with autologous fat (from the patient herself), to achieve the desired volume.
